Happy Cinco de Mayo!

FAT CAMP here I come!

So . . . Years ago my little sister, Lori, had gained a lot of weight, she was 5'4" and weighed about 235 lbs. One of our older sisters, Shelly, invited Lori to stay at her house fo 3 weeks. Diring that three weeks Shelly showed Lori how to eat healthy and was very strict about it. Lori lost 18 lbs during those 3 weeks and after that it had become a habbit to eat healthy.

Well . . . Lori, has now lost a total of 100 lbs and had kept it off for a year and a half!!! She works out almost every day and keeps a good eye on what she eats. She is now working on being certified as a personal trainer!!! For a long time she has wanted to offer me the same experience, but I have always been working and now I am in school full time, etc.

Lori has been out here for a small visit and felt the urge to finally bring it up to me now that my life is slowing down a bit. I was nervouse to take her up on her offer because of so many reasons, but my sister, her husband, my mom, and my husband all thought that it would be a great idea! Kenny told me not to worry, that he would take care of everything!!

So . . . on Friday I am off to San Francisco!!!!!!

I will try to keep up with the blog as much as possible, besides I know that you will want to see how my efforts are going! Talk to you all soon!!!

Jean's Golden Girls

JEAN'S GOLDEN GIRLS

Well... if you haven't heard the BIG news, my mom has joined a dance class that will prepare who to become one of the famous Golden Girls! I have been excited for here from the moment she told me because I have known for a long time that it was her dream, as a child, to become a dancer. My grandmother put her in every kind of dance class, but wouldn't allow her to make it a profession. SO.... I got the chance to go with my mom to her dance class last week and here are some pictures of my gorgeous mother!!!

I was also lucky enough to take a video:

End of the TAX season!!!!

As most of you know, I have been working full-time for a CPA during the tax season which ended last Wednesday, April 15th! That night after work, the owner had a little pizza party for the staff and their families. I am staying on with them part-time... kind of an "as needed" basis.

Well, I have really gotten to know the owner's family... his wife and three daughters. I thought I would share a couple of the gifts that I received from them that day:

This is a portrait drawn by Sarah Hicken of my two dogs, Rudy and Shylo. She did such a great job!!! Can you believe she is only 10 years old?!!? What talent! Of course... all three girls have amazing talents and I am excited to spend more time with them now that I am not working so much. I also received a LOVELY bouquet from them and a letter of thanks! I will really miss seeing them on almost a daily basis!!!

The next day I packed up the dogs and myself for a little vacation in Utah County! I know, not the most exciting place to go... but, I was in a dire need of a family visit! I was missing my two mothers TERRIBLY!!!! Anyway, I had a wonderful time and will be posting some fun pictures soon of my mom at her best.... DANCING! She has joined a dance class that is preparing her to become one of Jean's Golden Girls! She is fantastic! Over course, she doesn't think so, but one day she will take a look and see how great she really is at dancing... she just needs confidence!

It has been 3 weeks...

I have definately been slacking in the weblog department!! ". . . it has been 3 weeks since my last confession." And what a LONG three weeks it has been!

Well, I have a lot of news... first, I called my sister, Lori, to see what she would like for her birthday. It is in a month and I like to get ideas early enough that I get something and have it shipped to her in time. At first she couldn't think of anything, then she said... "we could really use some baby stuff." Ahh ha ha ha! They are trying to adopt and it sounds like they may have a new baby by August. But, they were told that it could happen at any time and that they should be ready in case it is short notice. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Second, we bought another boat! Wohooooo! This time we paid more, but we got a better deal! Ken and I took last Friday off, packed up the dogs, and the 4 of us spent the day out on the boat! We were out on Starvation Resevior fishing all day... and not a single bite! But it was a ton of fun!!

Rudy was fascinated with the whole trip He would wonder around and even got adventurous at one point by hanging his paws and head over the side of the boat while it was going! He definately likes boating!!

Shylo, on the other hand, spent most of the time lounging in the sun and sleeping. She was definately a princess for the day! LOL

Ken was having the best time playing with all the TOYS on the boat... a fish finder and two down riggers!!! You'd think he had just died and gone to HEAVEN!

It really was a wonderful day! The weather was good... the sun was shining most of the day, it wasn't too cold, there wasn't a breeze... it was just the perfect stress releaver and a break from reality that I think we both needed. We definately fee that we have a fun filled summer ahead of us!! This boat was a GREAT buy!!!
Third, my mom came down for the Easter weekend. I hadn't seen her in such a long time and it was so much fun to have her around!! She and I went shopping and had lunch together on Saturday. We had SOOOOOOOOOOO much fun! I found tons of cute new clothes and shoes for church, one outfit in particular I wore for Easter!
